From what I've picked up in my limited network expirience, the gateway value is not important here as you are only dealing with one network (those 2 computers). A gateway value is the IP of a computer on your network that is also connected to another network, so that that computer is essentially your computer's "gateway" to the other network. Commonly a gateway is important for you to enter in some internet connections where your computer is connected to a computer at your ISP, which is a gateway to the net. As to your empeg, that doesn't really help you much. Try pinging the empeg "ping 192.168.0.51" and seeing if you get a response, then you at least know it the ethernet or some software issue is at fault. Good god it's 4:19 AM over here, what the hell am I doing?
