Last night I saw an episode of Futurama which contained the following line:

Leela: "I'm not evil. My loan officer said so."

The episode's plot revolved around a sort of Pandora's box, which contained a parallel universe. The characters all fell through the box into the parallel universe.

I don't have this episode recorded, and don't own the DVD set. Does anyone else have an easy way of grabbing that sound bite? Perhaps someone with Total Recorder and the DVD set?

It should be a wave file if possible, but I can convert from just about anything. See, I'm setting up a new computer for Jenny so she can use it at the office. As a surprise, I want that sound bite to be the boot-up sound.

I saw that too last night ... I'll check if that episode is on the DVD's.

Speaking of DVD's, for anyone who has these or the Simpsons DVD's, there are commentaries -- but they have them in a terribly unintuitive place. If you look under the Languages menu, there is a commentary language. They're hilarious on both sets of DVD's, but particularly the Futurama ones, because the writers/producers/etc are all techie's, so they point out some really clever stuff.

Not to mention the guy who does Bender is on there a lot (along with the guy who does Fry, and others), and he cracks me up ...

I should have it recorded on my ReplayTV at home. IM me past 5pm mountain time to remind me to check for it, and I'll grab the sound from it.

The sound file was a hit, by the way. This is saying a lot, because she normally doesn't like computers that spout sound bites when they boot up.

Thanks again!

The only reason I can think of that sound bite as being particularly funny is that your wife is a loan officer. Am I right?

Philip, I don't know where/how you got that sound bite as quickly as you did last time. Was it because you happened to have it on your hard disk, or did you go to the trouble of a rip?

If it's something easy for you to grab (i.e, you're not going to any trouble to do so), then last night's episode had a couple more gems that I'd like for my own use. Do you happen to have them?

The first one had the gang going to a robotics trade show, and one of the Killbots was being demonstrated to the crowd. The presenter said something about how one of the Killbot's features was "Lotus Notes". That made me lose it. (We're a Notes house here)

Later in the same episode, Bender leads a group of luddite robots (yes, the inherent contradiction therein was played up in the episode) to attack the city, and says something about it being "worthy of being immortalized in an anthem by Rush".

Lotus Notes

Rush

If these aren't long enough, just let me know - its easy to get more/less/different ones.

Enjoy

No problem!

I don't have Season 5 on DVD yet (is it released?), I've been recording 'live' from VCD compliant mpegs. Takes 2 mins as they are all on my hard disk.

Too cool. What a great way to waste hard disk space.
