If I were you, I'd just scan them all in at max resolution at once and then afterwards deal with editing them. You can put multiple photos on the scanner bed at once. Just have your program scan in the entire bed with every pass. That way you don't have to deal with the usually lengthy preview process for each one. Then you can part them out later.
